Daily Draw: Halloween Tarot ~ Queen of Bats

Seeing the Queen of Bats observation of and kindness toward bats makes me think of Steve Irwin and what a loss to animals and ecology his death was. If he saw this bat he'd say Beauty, Beauty. Here in the back of the beyond we see the little bats come out right at deep dusk, faster than a speeding bullet, snapping up all manner of flying bugs which suits me right down to the ground. They are gentle shy creatures who do a great service to the home owner and gardener.

I'm reminded by this card to stop judging on appearance. Often the importance and specialness of man or beast are not visible to the eye. Much is missed by mentally kicking someone or something to the curb based on first sight. Like the Queen of Swords, we need to look deeper.

"One may have a blazing hearth in one's soul and yet no one ever comes to sit by it. Passersby see only a wisp of smoke rising from the chimney and continue on their way." ~ Vincent Van Gogh 1853-1890

Deck this week is Halloween Tarot by Karin Lee, Art by Kipling West, published by U.S. Games.
