Daily Draw: Whimsical Tarot ~ The Tower

The Tower is represented by the story of the 3 Little Pigs and the wolf who blew down their house of straw. The overwhelmed tower speaks of those times in our lives when cataclysmic events happen that are beyond our control. But in the case of walls of straw it would have to be an event that we had a hand in causing. Because sometimes we do pursue a path against all advice and common sense. Many folks today are experiencing this type of Tower event because they bought a house they couldn't afford and couldn't have gotten the loan approved through a primary lender. Now interest rates have gone up and so have the house payments and 'suddenly' we have a tower event which isn't sudden at all. They had a house of straw built on a foundation of sand.

I'm reminded by this card that living within my means has its own rewards. My house is humble but I don't lay awake nights worrying about losing it. There is no smugness in that statement, but gratitude; There but for the grace of God go I.

"He is a great simpleton who imagines that the chief power of wealth is to supply wants. In ninety-nine cases out of a hundred it creates more wants than it supplies." - Benjamin Franklin
