Daily Draw: Runic Tarot ~ Intensity
Ever been in a wind that pushed you over, so cold that when you throw water it turns to ice in mid-fall, heat so heavy it felt like you were smothering? On rare occasions emotions can be like that. Happiness, sorrow, anger, suddenly multiplied to the 9th degree. We couldn't live like that for long, not and stay sane, the weight of that kind of emotion sustained would be too much to bear.
I'm reminded by this card that how we handle life on a mundane basis is what we draw on in deeply emotional times. Life is learned behavior isn't it, so if we fall apart over a flat tire or broken heirloom or an A+ paper, where will our reserves of will and strength be when our home blows away, we win the lottery, a parent or child is killed? What won't bend will break. Flexibility, balance, an emotional reserve is what will keep us grounded in those exceptional good and bad times.
"Emotion turning back on itself, and not leading on to thought or action, is the element of madness." ~ John Sterling 1806-1884
