Even for a loner like myself it is uber-easy to get advice today when troubled or puzzled. Got a lump? Did the cake fall? Thinking about raising mink? How much is that book worth? Sure...Google. Thinking about getting a divorce, changing religion, running away from home? We can and often do, turn to internet forums or lists or chat-rooms. Millions of total strangers in the guise of on-line friends. Who are happy to give advice, it is the favorite pastime of humans after all.
I'm reminded by this card and the story behind it advice from outside sources can be filtered for content or used for a prop, but deep inside us, if we have voiced the question, we probably also have the answer. We often behave like fools, but we aren't...we just absolutely refuse to listen to the small still voice within where all our universal and personal knowledge, secrets, truths, instinct, and history lies.
"Know yourself. Don’t accept your dog’s admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful." ~ Ann Landers/Eppie Lederer 1918-2002
