Daily Draw: Universal Fantasy Tarot ~ 5 of Coins

Romney.

I'm reminded by this card there truly are people who don't have a clue what it's like just to struggle day to day. How convoluted it is to access the safety net, and how small that net is and how easy it is to miss it entirely.

"I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there." ~ Mitt Romney (January 2012)

  2. How can someone who has six houses, has been educated in the finest private institutions, and has never been hungry (unless dieting), ever understand even the middle class, much less those who live below the poverty line? And Americans want to focus on what religion people are from! Give me a break - they should just look at how they put their religion into practice!
    (now stepping off soapbox...)

  3. In sweden we have politicians sitting in the government saying there is NO poverty in Sweden - at all. And all those 'secret milionaries' shows make me pissed off too, People 'playing' poor a week and then think they understand. They never went to bed with a growling tummy, or even worse had kids with growling tummies. Poverty is about so much more then just lack of money and food and shelter though, it is that nagging worry that eats you up on the inside. I am fortunate to enjoy that safety net myself for now but well aware that many are not as lucky.
