Fortuna's Flick

Daily Draw: Legend the Arthurian Tarot ~ Wheel

This card refers to Arthur's nightmare prior to a big battle, regarding the fickleness of Fortuna. In the dream life was grand for Arthur while at the top but when Fortuna flicked the Wheel, in the fall his jaw was crushed and the Wheel broke the rest of his bones, then he was eaten by worms.

This card reminds me of the type of pre-knowledge gained in insider trading or corporate research and development, secrets that can make someone without integrity wealthy. I consider myself as honest as the day is long, but I expect I'd be hard pressed to ignore knowledge that could make me a financial pile. Fortuna isn't likely to offer that choice...so I'll never know will I?

"The line between honesty and dishonesty is a narrow, shifting one and usually lets those get by that are the most subtle and already have more than they can use." ~ Clarence Darrow 1857-1938 The Story Of My Life
