Hermitage Thrust Upon Us

Daily Draw: Legend the Arthurian Tarot ~ Hermit

Lancelot was in a self-imposed exile for two years, his mind tumbled by the enormity of what he had done, or been tricked into doing. Two years later, only by the grace of the Grail was his mind healed.

I'm reminded by this card that all hermitages are not created equal. Prison or jail, hospital, nursing home or asylum, traveling, there are many places we are aloneish. Do we take that time as an opportunity to heal or grow? Or do we allow busyness by choice and environmental chaos to rule?

"Leisure should be a time to think new thoughts, not ponder old ills." ~ C. Neil Strait 1934-2003

  1. Nice image for the hermit rather than just standing alone on a mountain top.
