The tight weave of spirituality with which we bind ourselves. We take what was joy and light and start adding rules, restrictions, and fearful consequences until our mind and heart are paralyzed and buried by the very spirituality we embraced.
I'm reminded by this card religion has brought more pain and sorrow and grief to this world than any kind of plain old hate. Odd that, when at it's center it is pure love in any language and culture.
"Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself." ~ Chief Seattle 1780-1866
Tarot opened previously closed doors to my own heart with it's merciless quest for the truth, nothing but the truth. They flay the soul and make me say thank you afterward. Each hour spent with my cards is a new lesson to be learned. Viva la Journey.
