Mini-Fits Of Madness

Daily Draw: Rosetta Tarot ~ 7 of Cups

From Crowley: This is one of the worst ideas that one can have; its mode is poison, its goal madness.
We seem surrounded by sick madness, we wonder if the wheels are coming off the world...but look back. The holocaust, the Spanish Inquisition, Vlad the Impaler, King Herod, to the beginning of this time and the time before. There have always been people with unconscionable ideas who have always found people to follow them.

I'm reminded by this card we would not be human if we said we don't each have little mini-fits of madness, when we are cruel to those we love, hateful to those we don't, even to strangers. In this enlightened age, in truth, we are still in stone cold darkness.

"Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one." ~ Charles MacKay 1814-1889   Extraordinary Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds

  1. Typical you mention only men...
But at least most of us try to behave.

  2. Looking at this card does kinda make me feel ill ... lol. There doesn't seem to be any balance there at all. I certainly have my moments of madness but hopefully not quite to the point of this card. I do agree we, as humans, still have a long way to go.

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
