Daily Draw: Chinese Tarot ~ Moon

The artist chose to associate the moon with the feminine side of nature and the luna hare, representative of longevity.

I'm reminded by this card to wonder where these ideas come from.
Is a fir tree male or female?
How about a river?
I thought the sun was female, but sun and moon both can't be can they?
I've been studying Luna Hare, but I've not read they are associated with a long life. Rabbits don't have a   particularly long life span...and who says longevity is a blessing of any kind?

"The other day when I was walking through the woods, I saw a rabbit standing in front of a candle making people shadows on a tree." ~ Stephen Wright 1955-

  1. We as a society, culture, group etc. can make some weird associations. And once we pass them on to the next generation, they have a way of sticking around for better or for worse.

  2. Sometimes a card can stir up more questions then answers. I wonder which will enlighten us more?
