Someone Always Craves Blood

Daily Draw: Etruscan Tarot ~ Page of Swords

The Etruscan's copper and tin mines provided the bronze military trappings of the soldiers, and was far more effective than their opponents for several victorious centuries.

I'm reminded by this card a couple of centuries is nothing in the span of time and civilizations. In the end the Romans crossed the Tiber and assimilated the Etruscans. I suppose with today's techniques we could find someone with Etruscan blood, but why would we? Time moves on and trained pages can't hold for nations of apathetics. Someone always craves war. They feed on it, grow rich from it, exalt in the money to be made.

"Freedom is never free." ~ William Tecumseh Sherman 1820-1891

  1. Time moves on, indeed. Watched a kid try to use a rotary phone - it was frigging hilarious.
