Committee

Daily Draw: Llewellyn Tarot ~ Queen of Wands

For some reason this Queen always reminds me of a classic 'committee woman'.

Where would we be without them (probably happier, if a bit disorganized) but I'm reminded by this card I know one when I meet one, and I'd rather see one than be one.

"A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured and then quietly strangled." ~ Sir Barnett Cocks 1907-1989

  1. That quote is hilarious. Reminds me of when my daughter started school and I tried to join some parent groups. Ideas were definitely strangled if they didn't come from the top dogs!

    1. I'm campaigning to add a day time meeting to the night time only quilt guild meetings. I'm expecting zero return...but then it doesn't cost anything to ask. Except some times you get what you ask for and have to become a committee woman :)

  2. I used to be one, but then I realized I disliked the amount of drama behind closed doors.

    1. Yes, you need to be invigorated by group politics :)

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
