Daily Draw: Mythic Tarot ~ 10 of Coins

From the companion book: "The ten of pentacles portrays a situation of permanence which outlasts the life of the single individual". Life is short and then you are gone. What will you leave behind?

The quick answer is children, for those that have them. But in this ooo, shiny, world where anything more than eight minutes old gets shifted to the thrift store, what will you leave that will mean something to someone somewhere, enough to keep? None of my 'stuff' is worth someone else's keeping, what I leave perhaps is an influence that ripples on in a few peoples life.

"He looks but he does not contemplate,
he sees but he does not think.
He runs away from time,
which is made of thought,
and yet all he can feel is his own time, the present.” ~  Eugenio Montale 1896-1981

The deck is The Original Mythic Tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, illustrated by Tricia Newell. Published by Simon & Schuster 1986.

  1. And that "ripple" is much greater than any stuff.

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
