First Impression

Daily Draw: Etteilla Tarot ~ Justice

Would that knife and ball on a chain be Etteilla's version of a flail and scepter? And what an enormous cloak or is it a blanket?

I'm reminded by this card and first impressions, of jury duty. It is never about first thinks, it is about the story behind the story. And probably why sentencing is all over the map for basically the same crimes.

"Justice has nothing to do with what goes on in a courtroom; Justice is what comes out of a courtroom." ~ Clarence Darrow 1857-1938

  1. Always interesting to be a jury. Something cut and dried to one person if full of flaws and misunderstandings to the next. It's a wonder they all aren't hung juries.

  2. Justice is so much more than following and execution of the Law :)

  3. That is a Justice is a bit different and yes I think you are right, looks like a blanket for a cloak of truth. She doesn't need all that jazz to pass her judgement.
