Patterns

Daily Draw: Native American Tarot ~ 5 of Swords

The swords in this deck are represented by animals. Buffalo being one of the most valued by the plains indians. Buffalo carries the world on it's back. But eventually he wears down. His legs fail, his hide disintegrates, his bones break away, and once again, the world goes quiet.

I'm reminded by this card our short personal life and times are also cyclical. Houses burn, employment lost, leaders change, wars profligate. And the more change, the more it is the same. Pattern in pattern out.

“If you see a whole thing - it seems that it's always beautiful. Planets, lives... But up close a world's all dirt and rocks. And day to day, life's a hard job, you get tired, you lose the pattern.”
 Ursula K. LeGuin ~ 1929-

    1. well put on your big girl clothes and get over here. "I'm" cooking, oh dear. Nieces and nephews coming tomorrow. the lemon poppy seed bread just came out of the oven, tea and cakes in 30 minutes? perfect day here for deck sitting. The neighbor is part of the house and garden tour today, we could critique the crowd..
