Give And Keep

Daily Draw: Santa Fe Tarot ~ 6 of Coins/Buffalo

Philanthropist vs. Hoarder, what are the flip sides of this card?

Having just read through pages of modern day philanthropism plus pages of  people of great wealth with Collyer brothers syndrome, it seems to boil down to the former know it takes a nation and the latter think only they can care for something, often with dreadful results.

"We are hoarding potentials so great that they are just about unimaginable." ~ Jack Schwartz

  1. Your philosophy of "something comes in, something goes out" has been of great help to me.

  3. That caricature looks a bit spooky. I had to flip screens and search the Collyer brothers, "the hermits of harlem" never heard of them before. I showed a place years ago, a 2 story converted to 3 apartments. The apartment on second floor was occupied by a hoarder. It was scary. Magazines stacked to eye level and formed a maze throughout apartment. My biggest concern is the floor collapsing from the weight of everything before we could get back out.

I listed a house once like that. And offered suggestions about 'showing' a house to its best advantage. When the tour when through, she'd disposed of most of her furniture, but all the billions of nicknacks were there, showcased on the floor
