Daily Draw: Tarot of the Sephiroth ~ 6 of Swords

The ability to think clearly, to discern both sides with no malice of forethought.

I'm reminded by this card it is easier to say than do. First impressions can imperceptibly alter opinion which colors how we react, with no discernible thought at all.

"They are not our loudest but our stillest hours” ~  Friedrich Nietzsche 1844-1900

  1. A turn of phrase 'no malice of forethought' me thinketh you have some studied Law. First impressions can be everything, sorry to say. It's that part of us that is always evaluating our surroundings. Maybe based on the old Fight or Flight syndrome.

  2. Nah, title of a Paul Newman movie I think. Good morning!

  3. In the grip of the chunner chunner internal monologue it's easy to forget that we/I are/am making an impression. A friend at work told me in the gentlest way possible she likes my ideas but needs time to digest. I suppose we're always making impressions even (especially?) when we think we're not.

  4. If I can just shut off the committee in my head and actually listen with both ears, I stand a good chance of being able to slow my immediate reaction down a bit.
