Unfamiliar Familiarity

Daily Draw: Piemontese Tarocco ~ Moon/LaLuna

As a tarock card we only see the pool as a reflection and the crustation isn't manifesting. There are no yods or sense of merging, changing, growing, movement.
We are offered both a full and third quarter moon. A primal card. Yet the dogs are collared and the two towers are human constructs.

I'm reminded by this card of all the ways we are tied in place. By home, family, jobs, friends, sweat equity, farm animals/pets and most of all, by the familiar. Change, even designed and implemented by us is none the less, a lurch. Until the pond releases the crustation, we stay.

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." ~  Alan Cohen 1950-

  2. Your post reminds me of a Dutch song about a man who couldn't commit suicide because their was always someone who depended on him.

  3. Reflection - funny it is both a vertically and horizontally flipped image. Standing dog is lying down in reflection and lying down one standing up.
