Free From Restraint

Daily Draw: Victorian Fairy Tarot ~ Emperor

The Emperor of Japan is currently the only person holding this title. The title is equal only to the pope and differs from king/queen/president in that the position is free from restraint.

I'm reminded by this card my skin always crawls when I draw it.

  1. Interesting that he seems to be holding his son back while his daughter does as she likes. :)

  2. I saw it as the son being groomed (he has the scepter) and the girl child as being beneath his notice.

    1. I saw that too. They both have wings whereas she is trying singlehandedly to move the world forward.

    2. holy cow, I missed that connotation entirely. I think we could take every card in this deck and have a round table convo for hours.
sorry you are under such job pressure..

  3. Is it this card or all emperor cards that gives you the creepy crawlies? I saw a report recently that indicated it will be 80 years before there really is equal pay for equal employment.

    1. all of them, most unfavorite of all is from the Victorian Romantic. In 80 years many of our coastal cities will be awash, and most of us will be working a hoe and scythe. I'm watching Poldark, just a story, but nothing has changed.

    2. Hi Carolyn, I have heard that statistic too. 80 years till week the same pay for the same work.

Sharyn are you watching the latest poldark or the one from the seventies? I have no idea what tv you get across the pond:) I quite like the current one but am a bit behind with episodes.

    3. The first season from the most recent incarnation. Ross Poldark is too sexy to be legal. He is in the most recent Agatha Christie 10 little indians.

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
