Making The Leap

Daily Draw: New Earth Tarot ~ 5 of Coins/Mirrors

Odd deck alert... what I'm given in this image strikes me as entrepreneur oriented. In my case it was hairdresser and then elder care. Working for yourself may bring the idea you only work when you want with who you want.

Wrong. I'm reminded by this image of few pots ready for sale and nothing curing in the oven. Quite often in the early days you put in twice the hours for half the money. This potter has chosen to go for it knowing his ability to focus and balance creates a better quality of life.

"The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer." ~ Nolan Bushnell 1943-

  1. I think when you work for yourself your work has to be your passion because it's hard to take a break or put the work to rest for a few days
Any way this take on the Five of Pents beats the poverty card of the RWS

  2. Nicely said. Lots of people think self employment is the dream. There are no 8-5 days and weekends off. No one sees the off camera work that is done. That beautiful pot on the shelf took 10 or more hours to make and years of apprenticeship.

  3. Having run our own business for years, I can say that self-employment is pretty much like being an indentured servant to your business. No vacation and no days off, and the buck always stops with oneself.

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
