Oddball Suits

Daily Pick: Halloween Tarot ~ Moon

This deck did three weeks service here in 2007, 2008, 2009. Where did it go wrong, that it was no longer worth keeping? Suits.

I'm reminded by this card, this deck is the reason I drew a line in the sand, refusing to use oddball suit names on the blog. If I do a search for Knight of Swords, I want all those posts to come up. I've relented enough to now list the silly names along with my searchable four. Funny how we see our movement on a path in hindsight. Some times it is a revelation, sometimes we wonder what took us so long to "get it".

Sing a song of silly suit names... Bats, Imps, Pumpkins, Ghosts

  1. I wish I would have thought about that three years ago. My suit tags are a real mess. Perhaps something to take care of one rainy afternoon :)

    1. A lot of my early posts don't have titles, which bothers me. I have thought of going back and redoing suits too, but it is a very clunky process on Blogger. A rainy day project that will probably never get to the top of the list.

  2. I don't mind too much some of the nontraditional names, but only if I can figure them out rather easily. I passed this one on too.

  3. I like that quirky portrayal of the Moon. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

    1. I like Trivium's typed moon, wonder how she did it? I once fooled around with smileys in blogger, very nearly almost got myself in trouble. My Rob would say "if you don't know how to turn a piece of equipment off, don't start it".

    2. There's a library of smileys and other images in my iPad. Mostly I forget about them but sometimes as I type they pop up as suggestions...

    3. I sent you a bat also - shows up when I viewed comments in ipad but looking on the mac it is just a square. :(

  4. I quite like this moon 🌙 Another option is strip out the oddball suits (send them to me if you like) and keep as a majors only deck?

PS I agree swapping swords for wands is bats 🦇...

    1. good luck on that happening :) The Halloween Tarot is absolutely charming. It probably got edited out of the collection when doing my yearly inventory. I try to keep order by limiting to 60ish total. This year total was 45 tarot and 25 oracle. close enough. I seldom buy anymore, but did back my 1st indigogo this month, a https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-shakespeare-tarot-game-art#/ deck.
