Common Experience

Daily Draw: Songs For The Journey Home ~ 2 of Cups/Wave Songs

Is it familiarity? Or friendship? Coming together by plan or accident? I'm thinking this morning of a class reunion. My class only had one, the tenth, and all the new clothes fairly crackled in the room.

There were only twenty seven of us to begin with, many together all twelve years. I probably couldn't say any are friends, we haven't seen each other since then. But there is a deep bond of common experience, and that would carry us far beyond hello.

  1. I was an outlier in high school, and I never felt any desire to go to any of the school reunions. They stopped having them years ago, I believe. I guess it was a time we'd all like to forget rather than remember.

    1. was your school big? I had a hair salon customer whose class met once a month for lunch.

  2. Reunions of small classes are a wonderful experience. My hometown graduating class had maybe 10 students.

I like this: "all the new clothes fairly crackled in the room." Great writing!

  3. Never went to any of the High School Reunions. I still get notifications, just not interested. I never bonded with any of them.

  4. We have ours every 10 years and the same with our nursing group. I think after the next one we go to every 5 years.
I have loved attending them. I am so proud of the girls i went to school with and what they have done with their lives
