Daily Draw: Bruegel Tarot ~ 8 of Pents

We are met today by 8 representatives of Medieval working men, all with a key to their craft. The recommendation on this card is to learn your vocation well, but leave it in the workplace, don't carry it around with you.

Marked advice for many of my countrymen, including myself. We feel if we aren't working we aren't earning our air...our right to be here. Without our job to wear like a cloak we aren't sure who we are. I noticed in European countries you don't ever met someone and start the conversation with "what do you do?". It's bad form all around. Yet we define ourselves by our job and would be hard pressed to do otherwise.

By my own choice both of my income producing occupations are 24/7. Doesn't mean I have to work 24/7, only that I will, and do. I'm reminded by this card that by the same token or pentacle I also have the ability to relax 24/7...and should certainly do so more often. I think I'll take the day off.

"If hard work were such a wonderful thing, surely the rich would have kept it all to themselves." ~ Lane Kirkland 1922-1999

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
