Daily Draw: Hanson-Roberts Tarot ~ 7 of Swords

Often depicted as a thief or sneak, this card gets a bum rap in most decks, probably because of the attitude of the figure in the foreground. Yet who amongst us has never been the victim of gossip, theft, or betrayal? As shown in the 7 of Swords it can tie and bind you as surely as rope and cage.

Dredging up 3 betrayals in my life and dissecting them in the light of day I can see what hurt most was not the actual circumstances, but the attitude of the betrayer. Humans can get over or at least learn to live with most any situation but our heart never forgets the pain. I've seen some nurture and grow that pain until it becomes their life force, blocking them from all of the good. Today I am reminded to "let it go".

"Whatever life takes from you, let it go. When you surrender and let go of the past you allow yourself to be fully alive to the present. Letting go means you can enjoy the dream that is today." ~ Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements
