Daily Draw: Morgan Greer Tarot ~ 2 of Cups

What comes to mind when looking at this card are the pacts and promises we make to ourselves. We mark a new day with a new list of must do and want to do items, little mini-markers of progress, or we start something big. Quit smoking, start exercising, a fresh canvas and a new paintbox... I'm wondering if we made the same promise to someone else that we make to ourselves if we'd do a better job. Falling off the wagon seems to be a common human plight. That chocolate calls our name, the crew invites us to a Friday night beer, the garden is muddy--a good excuse not to weed.

Is our attention span so short or fractured that we can no longer focus on getting at least one thing right in our life for more than a week or a month? Where does that initial excitement and pleasure of that new path go? My work ethic is start something finish it, make a commitment then carry through. So how come that doesn't work very well in my personal life? I don't have an answer but they say identify and admit a problem and I'm on the way to solving it. Cheers to me and today's plans.

"I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult" ~ E.B. White 1899-1985
