30 Days In The Cooler

Daily Draw: Moon Oracle ~ Isolation

I'm a loner both by circumstances and choice, but there is a huge difference in choosing to be isolated and having to be isolated. And clearly, isolation has some of the qualities of suicide and death in how it impacts those whose lives we touch.

I'm reminded by this card that isolation by choice can be extremely selfish behavior and should be balanced with time given to those who love and care about us. Don't give them the grief of a suicide walking.

"Solitude vivifies; isolation kills." ~ Joseph Roux 1725-1793

  1. This is so true, Sharyn. Many times, I think that the people who isolate themselves don't realize the pain they cause for the people who love them.

In some ways, it is a grief worse than what death would bring - eventually, you get over that to an extent. With isolation, the grief of not hearing from someone you love never goes away because the person is still there and the grief is still fresh and raw every day.

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
