Daily Draw: Moon Oracle ~ Pitcher

This card should have been called Vase, it would make it easier to understand. To some degree we are all empathic, we take in the pain or joy of of another living creature to an alarmingly degree. I have my cynical ruthless side to offer some protection but sometimes I'm caught completely unawares and am overwhelmed. This card shows those feelings being channeled back out into receptive outlets, a coping skill we need to learn.

I'm reminded by this card there is so little I can do to help anyone anywhere, and maybe that is the way it is supposed to be. After all I know very well until someone is willing to help themselves in a positive way there can be no change. But what about the car crashes and the abandonment, and illness, all the things beyond control, what good does it do to be empathic for them? The only answer I can think of is it helps us retain our humanity.
Tell them, that, to ease them of their griefs,
Their fear of hostile strokes, their aches, losses,
Their pangs of love, with other incident throes
That nature’s fragile vessel doth sustain
In life’s uncertain voyage, I will some kindness do them.
William Shakespeare ~ 1554-1616
