Nirvāṇa

Daily Draw: Napo Tarot ~ 10 of Coins

The ultimate goal, the highest happiness. Which has little if nothing to do with anything going on outside us and everything to do with what is going on inside us. We've resolved our issues and conflicts; worldly desires and petty annoyances are no longer part of who we have become.

I'm reminded by this card I have a long way to go, but one of the discoveries I've made is inner joy and temporary happiness are two separate things. I can be overwhelmed with sorrow or anger, and still have inner joy because it is a peace birthed from knowledge and growth. From letting things go that I can't or shouldn't change, from loosening the need to control, from giving up investing energy in things which are none of my business. How much time a day do you spend wondering or worrying about what someone else will think or say or do? How much time is spent in the pursuit of wants vs. needs? Let go of that and you are one giant step closer to Nirvana, The Highest Happiness.

"One who finds happiness with the Self, who rejoices the Self within, and who is illuminated by the Self-knowledge; attains supreme nirvana." ~ Bhagavad Gita
