Illusionary Success

Daily Draw: Hermetic Tarot ~ 7 of Cups

Mary Hunt's Newsletter today offers the news that credit card companies have new rules. Big deal, the damage is already done. When we got married in 1970 we couldn't get credit anywhere because we both failed the cardinal rules for receiving credit. The applicant had to have:
The current address for at least two years
Have held the current job for at least two years
When those were met they then looked at your credit history and income ratio to debt load.

I haven't a clue when credit card companies went from responsible members of the financial community to rabid dogs but easy credit and financial ruin have been the result.

I'm reminded by this card that material goods on credit are only the front, the show, the illusion of success. Real financial integrity is saving for rather than paying on. Empty cups indeed.

"Seven deadly sins: politics without principle; wealth without work; pleasure without conscience; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and worship without sacrifice." ~ Eli Stanley Jones 1874-1973
