As I Say, Or As I Do?

Daily Draw: Tarot of the Origins ~ Page of Swords/Blood

Behind this child of six or seven years there is a rack of bones silhouetted in the setting sun. Right behind him is a beast, either dead or preparing to deal death.

I'm reminded by this card that many of our ideas, ideals, and prejudices are planted in us via our environment before we even know enough to make choices. I hope I've never planted the seeds of hate in a child by so much as a cocked eyebrow, let alone word and action.

Nothing is so contagious as an example. We never do great good or evil without bringing about more of the same on the part of others." ~ François de La Rochefoucauld 1613-1680
