Corpse Of Childhood

Daily Draw: Runic Tarot ~ Childhood

Rob and I may as well come from different planets when childhoods are compared. Had I known just how bad his was I probably wouldn't have married him. I had absolutely no tools for coping, helping, insulating.

I'm reminded by this card, for both of us, a boot to the back side while holding hands has pretty much been our way of getting through for forty years. Fairly early on we recognized we had to look to today and tomorrow, and let yesterday go, there will be no changes, no fixes there so why look for them?

"When childhood dies, its corpses are called adults and they enter society, one of the politer names of hell." ~ Brian W. Aldiss 1925-
