Corn 367 4/8

Daily Draw: Tarot of the Sephiroth ~ 4 of Swords

Rather than Truce or Rest, these authors indicate: Clear understanding of the natural abundance of the earthly plane. Not quite sure what they mean by that, but what comes to mind is the book I'm reading, America's First Civilization by Coe.

I'm reminded by this card of archaeologists, who work backward in order to understand our history going forward. Corn, a primary staple of the Americas, began as a grass with a cob less than an inch long with hard seeds. Which needed ground, back breaking work because tables came thousands of years later...Eight thousand years from now how backward will we seem?

Corn futures are trading today at 367 4/8. I wonder if that is good or bad. Probably great for the middle man, not so great for the producers and users.

  1. I love reading how the things we take for granted today were discovered millenia ago

    1. who was the first madman to try coffee beans or cacao?
who thought to go ahead and bake soured bread dough?
All the fun discoveries are all done ;)

  2. I imagine the farmers get the short stick while the corporations that process the product make out like bandits.
I was wondering the other day the same thing about wild herbs; who first took a chance that something would heal or could be used as food?

I welcome your thoughts. Good bad or indifferent; opinions are the lifeblood of conversation and I always learn something from a new point of view. Thank you for visiting, Sharyn
