Identity Ends

Tarot Noir ~ 2 of Coins

Infinity. Balance. Fluctuations. Graceful energy, flow. From the 1600's beginning of tarrock cards for gaming the two deniers card has been used as a card of identity. What they show across time is the production values in printing and one of the things giving the ability to date the oldest decks.

However modern I think I might be my gene string goes back and back, my survival instincts even further. But I end with me. I've always been a bit of a woodblock. And I'm fine with that.

Tarot Noir 2013 Matthieu Hackiere

  1. I wonder why none of those infinity symbols are completely looped? Without end or beginning.

    1. I don't know if they were in any way linked to the infinity symbol we see on today's RWS decks. So went and looked at this site and hunted down the magician/bagatella because that is where we see it today, over the magicians head. in the 1701 Dodal, you can see the hat beginning to make the shape. Perhaps it started there? I studied the TdM's extensively a long time ago and have forgotten much of what I once knew. Maybe it is time to pick up a few again and reacquaint myself. I think the linked site is Ross Caldwell's, an incredibly intelligent fan of the deck type.

    2. The history of origins. Interesting
